Stephen is the Chief Customer Officer for Virgin Galactic. He joined the company as Commercial Director and its first full-time employee in 2004, with responsibility for laying the commercial foundations and framework for the organization - including sales, customer care, marketing and brand development. He assumed the new role of Chief Customer Officer in 2021 in preparation for the start and growth of commercial operations. Stephen is now responsible for the customer journey from sales of new reservations, through to the Future Astronaut community and Astronaut alumni community. He also manages key commercial partnerships and the company’s STEM non-profit, Galactic Unite. As Chief Customer Office he provides the voice of the customer on the company’s senior leadership team.

Prior to joining Virgin Galactic, Stephen worked for Gartmore Investment Management, a major London-based investment management firm, where he performed a number of management and senior management roles for more than 15 years.
