Kemi Omijeh

Making mental health awareness and support inclusive and accessible is her passion. Her work centres around addressing stigmas that come with talking about mental health and removing barriers to accessing mental health support. Kemi regularly delivers keynote speeches to corporate companies in addition to training for counselling and therapy professionals on developing their cultural competency and making their practice more inclusive. One of Kemi’s areas of expertise is anxiety where she works with children and families around race, racism and racial trauma.

Kemi featured as the resident Therapist on BBC-iPlayer series: Mimi on a Mission. In this series Kemi provided ongoing support for teenagers on a digital detox as well as providing her professional expertise and insights on the impact of social media on mental health. She has since gone on to work with CBeebies and BBC Bitesize to develop a range of online mental health resources, including developing the script for the well-being series currently being aired on CBeebies. Kemi delivers workshops and training to many organisations on a range of mental health topics. One of her most requested workshops is: Workplace Wellbeing and Race, Racism and The Therapeutic Relationship.

Kemi, a former primary schoolteacher has worked in schools for years as well as working with the local authority and CAMHS. Kemi has a solid understanding and experience of children, teen development and emotional well-being. She can also provide consultation on school related topics as well as children and families.

Kemi is an engaging and interactive speaker who brings vast knowledge and experience with her. Her sessions are creative and offer tangible tips and strategies to make a difference to people’s mental health and well-being. Health without good mental health is incomplete.
